Efficiency Kansas partners are key to the success of this public-private initiative.
Partner Utilities are uniquely positioned in the Efficiency Kansas loan program. As providers of electricity and natural gas, you are uniquely positioned to facilitate energy-efficiency improvements in homes and small businesses.
To be a partner, utilities must plan to either utilize Efficiency Kansas financing and tie loan repayment to the meter, or collect loan payment on utility bills on behalf of Partner Lenders. In all instances, all projects receiving funds through Efficiency Kansas must be repaid in 15 years (that is, 180 monthly bill payments) or less.
Utilities that are subject to the jurisdiction of the Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC) may become Partner Utilities upon approval by the Commission of the Utility's program and associated tariffs. Non-jurisdictional utilities will work with the State Energy Office for approval of their programs.
