The State Energy Office (SEO) is offering scholarships to Kansas residents who wish to receive training to become energy auditors. Scholarships will cover the full cost of training at one of the approved training institutions listed below. Lodging and other living expenses are not included. Scholarship recipients will be awarded a scholarship certificate to provide to approved training institutions upon enrolling. Training institutions will verify the scholarship with the SEO. Scholarships will be valid for 60 days, from the date the certificate was issued to the recipient.

The State Energy Office will also provide scholarships to attend supplemental training to those with existing certifications from RESNET or the Building Performance Institute (BPI). Applicants should include proof of current certification when filling out the Scholarship Application form.

The qualified training institutions are listed below:

Eligibility
Scholarship recipients must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a resident of Kansas,
  • Must be 18 years or older, and
  • Must be knowledgeable in construction, remodeling, and/or HVAC

To Apply
Applicants must fill out the scholarship application form and submit it to the State Energy Office (1300 SW Arrowhead Road, Suite 100, Topeka, KS 66604-4074). Scholarships will be awarded based on need, experience, and geographical distribution. Approximately 100 scholarships will be awarded.

Scholarship recipients will have 60 days (from the date on which the scholarship certificate is issued) to complete training at one of the approved training institutions. After 60 days, the scholarship will expire.
